The problem
The WHO Foundation needed deeply reported stories to showcase global health innovations and real-world impact. The goal was to tell authentic stories of people whose lives had been improved by the World Health Organization and its partners. These stories needed to resonate with key stakeholders – including donors, governments, and high-net-worth individuals – and inspire greater engagement and support.
The approach
Astra drew on its extensive global network of journalists to produce multiple feature articles each month for the Foundation. By working with experienced in-country reporters, we ensured each story was grounded in valuable local perspective and authentic reporting. Stories came from diverse locations, including Ethiopia, India, and the United States, reflecting the Foundation’s global reach and the breadth of its impact.
The results
The WHO Foundation has significantly increased engagement with key stakeholders by sharing these stories online, at conferences, and in important meetings. Our authentic storytelling has helped raise awareness of critical funding needs, strengthened collaboration, and created new opportunities for partnerships with donors and governments around the world.
